Last week, Chief Deputy Robinson and McGruff were invited to participate in Picadome Elementary School’s annual Vehicle Day!
Vehicle Day is a chance for the students at Picadome to explore different careers and the vehicles the different careers use every day. The Office of the Fayette County Sheriff was so happy to have been asked back to this year’s event! Chief Deputy Robinson and McGruff explained what it means to be a deputy for the Office of the Fayette County Sheriff and what our cruisers are used for. Each student was able to climb into the cruiser where Chief Deputy Robinson explained what he uses his computer for, how to turn on the emergency lights and sirens, and showed them the communications system that is inside every cruiser.
As the students exited the cruiser, they were greeted by McGruff who handed them a “Junior Deputy” Office of Sheriff Badge to wear and to serve as a reminder to help keep their school safe! We hope all of the students who came by enjoyed exploring our cruiser and we are so glad that Picadome Elementary invited us to take part in such a wonderful event!
