Scam phone calls commonly use the names of law enforcement agencies to convince individuals into giving them money over the phone. DO NOT FALL VICTIM! Law enforcement will never ask for payment of any fine over the phone or threaten you with arrest. Use caution on any call when someone asks for payment or personally identifiable information, no matter who they claim to represent. If you receive a call that you think might be a scam, HANG UP and IMMEDIATELY contact the Office of the Fayette County Sheriff at (859) 252-1771.
